Anthony Joshua has retained his unbeaten record after defeating Carlos Takam tonight, tonight’s match makes it Joshua’s 20th victory.
Joshua’s intention was to knock Takam out but the referee jumped in at 10th round.
When AJ was interviewed after the fight he said “Thank you Cardiff in coming. Not my job to worry about the referee it is my job to break my opponent down round by round. I think people want to see Takam unconscious on the ground, am I right? (Crowd cheers) And that was the point I was trying to get to. But I cannot control the referee.”
Meanwhile, Takam has requested for a rematch, he said “I don’t know why the referee stopped the match. I respect the fans, great fans. I am happy. The referee stopped it, for why? Yeah, I want a rematch”.
There were boos of disappointment about the premature ending among the cheers for another Joshua KO victory.

Carl Froch said after the bout:
“The sensible people who watch boxing would not argue with that stoppage. The barbarians, and I am a barbarian, want a dramatic finish. It is a matter of what you like. Nothing but praise for AJ, he had rounds in the bank.”
