Jonathan mocks Nigerians over current fuel price

-Jonathan explains fuel price regime during his administration.-The former president also maintained the PDP performed better than what the APC is doing now.Former President Goodluck Jonathan has taken a veiled jibe atNigerians as he compares fuel price during his administration and what is currently obtainable inthe APC dispensation.He spoke on why fuel sold at N87 during his administration and why the same fuel now sells for N143 now.In 2012, Jonathan’s administration increased fuel price from N67 to N97 but later reduced it to N87 in January 2015 in what was widely regarded as a political move.Speaking in Abuja on Thursday when one of the aspirants for the PDP chairmanship position, Tunde Adeniran, visited him in his office, Jonathan explained reasons behindhis administration’s change in price of fuel.“My government was severely criticised for increasing the pump price of petroleum from N67 to N97 at a time that global crude price was going for over 100 dollars,” Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan’s spokesman, quoted him as saying.“The pump price was later reducedto N87 when the price of crude oil dropped and they attacked us that it was supposed to be lower. 2019 General Elections: We are confident that PDP would be elected“Those who criticised my administration are not talking again now that the global crude oil is about 53 dollars per barrel and the pump price of petrol is N143.”Speaking on the type of leadershipthePeoples Democratic Partydeserves, the ex president said:“We must do the right thing.
