Ahead of yuletide, Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, has approved 30 per cent bonus to political office holders, public/civil servants in the state to boost their morale during the celebration.
The approval was contained in a circular with Ref: No: CIR/HOS/17/Vol 1/087, signed by the State Head of Service (HoS), Mrs Folasade Adesoye.
In the circular dated December 4th and titled ‘2017 End of the Year bonus for Public/Civil Servants,’ the HoS stated that the bonus was the governor’s strategy of appreciating efforts the workers and political appointees made to ensure the state remained centre of excellence in the country.
“His Excellency, Akinwunmi Ambode, the governor of Lagos state has noted, with appreciation and gratitude, the dedication and commitment of all public/civil servants in Lagos State.
“In consequence, His Excellency, the governor has graciously approved the payment of 30 per cent of basic salary to all political appointees, public and civil servants in the month of December 2017,” Adesoye said.
She, therefore, expressed the hope that public and civil servants in the state public service would reciprocate Governor Ambode’s laudable gesture by working harder to improve on the current level of service delivery while maintaining the status of Lagos state as the centre of excellence.
